The health of your tattoo is important to us
At any point during the healing process, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to stop by the studio or give us a call. Our artists guarantee their work - a free touch up is included in your tattoo cost unless the damage was caused by the client and improper healing.
- If you were given a *saran wrap bandage, you will remove that bandage after two hours. Hand wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and an *antibacterial soap (like Dial). Wash your tattoo by hand. You will repeat this process 3-4 times a day throughout the healing process.
After washing, gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. Allow an extra 5-10 minutes of drying time before using any *aftercare product.
- If you were given a *saniderm bandage, you will remove that bandage after 4 days. The only reason to remove this bandage early is if you have any allergic reactions to the adhesive which you will know within the first day otherwise after the 4th day very gently roll the bandage off like you would a sticker under warm water. When the bandage is fully removed, hand wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and an *antibacterial soap (like Dial). Wash your tattoo by hand. You will repeat this process 3-4 times a day throughout the healing process.
After washing, gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel. Allow an extra 5-10 minutes of drying time before using any *aftercare product.
*Aftercare products can vary. We sell an all natural product in the studio called Hustle Butter or you can use any non-scented, perfume free lotion. Cocoa Butter is a great lotion for tattoos as well as Lubriderm or Curél. With any of these products you only want a very, very thin layer. Your tattoo needs to be able to breathe. Use these products sparingly when your skin feels dry after you have fully washed your tattoo with the antibacterial soap.
Things to remember:
Tattoos can take anywhere from 10 days to 2 weeks to fully heal. If your tattoo is taking longer than 10 days contact your tattoo artist.
Always wash your tattoo by hand. Using a loofah, wash cloth or any other abrasive material will damage the healing skin.
Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight.
Do not submerge your tattoo in water during the healing process. No hot tubs, no lakes, no rivers, no oceans, no bath water.
Do not pick or scratch at your tattoo. Some can people develop small scabs on the tattoo. Leave them alone and do not put anything on them. They need to fall off naturally to avoid damage to the tattoo.
