Jean-Luc works Friday-Tuesday from Noon til 8pm
Born in Miami but hailing from the twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, John, formerly Jean-Luc, has lived in the metro Atlanta area for the past 15 years. He has been with Gate City since 2017 and tattooing since 2020.
Proficient in multiple genres of tattooing, JL considers himself a true student of the craft, seeking knowledge of self, historical accounts and the esoteric truths within Tattooing. Viewing this as his life’s work, all other aspects of life sort of revolve around making art and making art for tattooing; from his cars to his house, life is one big art installation moving chaotically through time and space.
Tattooing is a sacred ritual endeavor. Get tattooed by someone who sees your tattoo as such.
Brought up on traditional street shop tattooing, walk-ins are always welcomed with open arms but large-scale Japanese, Americana, and Illustrative with a focus on gods, goddesses, demons, and dieties, flora and fauna are some of the styles and subject matter of tattooing that excite him.If you’re wanting to get tattooed by someone who leads his practice with love respect and devotion with a working knowledge of, and respect for the old ways of tattooing with a relatable modern perspective look no further. Johnny Luck, tattoo man for the working man.
